You know I'm in and will pay you or Lawther cache the first night I come, or if I see you before then and happen to have the money. I would like it if we could move have game at W&L one or both nights of the week, since it's more convenient for me.

Hey everyone,
Lawther is securing fields and we are tentatively planning to start the "Gunston game" on December 1st, in just about two weeks. We plan to play Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 PM, through February, as usual. (Though probably not Christmas & New year's eve. We'll see if there is interest)
We can definitely obtain the traditional Gunston field, but are checking to see if we can do one or both nights at Washington & Lee instead. W&L is easier to get to, bigger, and we had MUCH less trouble with the soccer players at W&L last year.
Anyone wishing to PayPal me $42 to guarantee their spot and keep me from having to front the entire (multiple thousands of dollars) fee is more than welcome to do so starting... NOW!
I should have said paypal $46 (same price as last year), not $42. My bad...

For those of you who enjoy or are curious about Goaltimate, a game is happening today (light rain OK, canceled if it pours) at 6 pm, on the Elipse, 17th St, NW just north of Constitution (across from the Red Cross Building). Most people playing come from open teams, so the level is excellent.
To get on the weekly Goaltimate EVITE for future games, please respond.

Hey Paul, could you send the below note to the winterdisc and BRDM listserves (and any others you think would lead to trustworthy people)? Thanks!
Hey Foolish Frisbee Players,
I'm coordinating the big party on Saturday of Fools Fest, and I'm looking for trustworthy volunteer minions that night to pitch in and pour beers, check IDs, hang lights, and generally help out. Many of you have done this in the past, and know that it actually ends up being a lot of fun. We're signing folks up for hour-long chunks of time. Please consider helping out, especially at the end of the night! You will be handsomely rewarded with dreams full of lay-out D's, the love and adoration of thousands of beautiful people, and all the free beer you could want!
Fools is one of the best, and longest-running ultimate tournaments in the country (right in our back yard!), and this is a way to make sure everyone has a great time. Check out the time slots below, and reply to Sasha <sasha.clayton@...>. Sign up alone, or sign up as a group--more fun!
Please please send this to anyone else (trustworthy) that's going to Fools. And then sign them up to volunteer with you!
Foolishly, Sasha Clayton Fools Party Czar
Beer Pouring: 9-10, 10-11, 11-12, 12-1
ID Checking: 9-10, 10-11, 11-12, 12-1 Clean-up: for those who are pretty sure they'll stay 'til the end Set-up: for those who want to hang up tons of red x-mas lights in creative, but not "too-creative" ways
We definitely can't get a field this Thursday. Response for this Friday has been underwhelming. So...
Tonight is the last night of Gunston Pickup for the season. I will happily (sadly) show whoever is interested the permits and explain how I got turned around into thinking we had one more night at W&L (there was at one point a permit for a field this Thursday, but it wasn't at W&L and wasn't for us).
Let's make tonight a good game!

All,
It is unclear that we will have a field on Thursday. I mis-read our permits and we definitely do NOT have W&L on Thursday.
I am working to see if we can can secure an alternate lit field on Thursday.
Would Friday at W&L work for people? Some else would have to bring conesas I wouldn't be able to make Friday. Go ahead and reply to me (NOT the distro list) if you could make Friday.
Sorry for the mix-up. This stinks...

Hey all,
Next week is it for the Gunston/W&L game. One more Tuesday and Thursday.
We just about broke even - not enough people to fully fund, but not having to pay or the nights we canceled due to cruddy weather made it more or less even out. Thus, we will not extend the season due to the cancellations.
Come out next week and let's end it with a couple really good games.

I was wondering if anyone was planning on playing in fools fest and
had open spots on a team open or mixed?? Two friends who are
visiting DC and I would like to play...they have elite club
experience, great personalities, you get the drift. Any info or
contacts would be greatly appreciated I know it's
kinda late. Thanks.

Also...has anybody piked up a white, Pategonia frisbee shirt (it's got a green "bella donna" lady on the front and the #2 on the back)...I seemed to have lost it as some frisbee function and I think I remember taking it to pick-up a few weeks ago. If so, please let me know.
Thanks, Huldah

Of course!
I expect a good turnout tonight so the closer to 7 people arrive, the sooner we can get started and the more points there will be to go around. Hopefully, someone will bring cones for a 2nd field.
Also, somewhere along the line a light-blue fools shirt "L" (though it isn't very large) ended up in my bag. Maybe from last Tuesday?

At 3:55 Arlington County clarified that the synthetic fields are closed for the evening due to ice. INDOOR ACTIVITIES are on as scheduled. So no game tonight.
Bummer.

I called and it sounds like it's on... i guess it just depends on how many people show up and want to play with the conditions that await us.

I spoke too soon! I just called again to make sure and they said the synthetic fields are closed. Sorry to get all your hopes up!

Hey all,
We had sevens with subs on Tuesday despite the damp conditions. It isn't supposed to rain tonight until after the game is over, so come on out!
Also, we still have slots available - please recruit good, fun people you would like to play with to come out. This game is structured as self-funded - if we can't get enough to cover our costs we have to cut our season short or something. That would not be fun.
