I personally would like a defensive-minded head coach. The last
several have been offensive (or should I say ofFENSive). My fear is
that Sniderato will hire from within (Greg Blache who defended the
owner and has gone quiet as long as Zorn's in charge). That way Danny
won't have to let go of his blanket, Vinny.

I heard that Danny got a tour of dallass' stadium last Friday and it was rumored
that The Danny now has stadium envy and may be thinking about building a new one
for himself.

I don't think Fassel is going to be here.

I've been keeping an eye on what the Bills are doing because I think it's a
preview of what the Redskins have to look forward to in the off-season
(assuming they fire Zorn to get a different head coach).

More names for consideration:

Of the latest 3, Martz might be interesting. He was QB coach for the 'Skins
when Gus Frerotte and Trent Green had decent years here.

My third most favorite Redskins-Cowboys game was the last one at RFK when
we killed them like 47 to 7 or something like that. All the Redskins Greats
that played at RFK came on the field at halftime and John Riggins ran on in
full Redskins uniform ready to go in the game. That was the day we over
powered the cops to get in the end zone after the game to get my clump of
grass from the field (which I still have)!

My second most favorite Redskins-Cowboys game was in or around 1975 when
Billy Kilmer scored on a one yard QB sneak in OT to win. Because of OT, we
missed our express train back to CT. and had to take a local train that
stopped at every podunk town between Washington and NYC and had to switch
trains
in NYC arriving home around 3 AM having to go to work the next day. But it
   was worth it!

My absolute all time favorite Redskins-Cowboys game was the 1972 NFC
Championship game at RFK. I was there that day and the stadium was rocking and
swaying , I thought it might collapse with all the fans stomping their feet.
The Redskins won 26-3 to advance to the Super Bowl. We buried them! Billy
Kilmer had a great day. I saw him about 20 years later and asked him to sign
my program from that day. He looked at it and said simply, with a huge
smile on his face, "that was a very good day"!

The Washington Post the next day headline roared, "WINNERS AT LAST"! It had
been 27 years since our last championship in 1945.

   Hail, Chief

Sounds like an interesting specimen. And I wouldn't be so quick to conclude he
won't be able to help the Redskins this year. I'm sure he's being debriefed as
we speak on the Eagles' offense.

I was much more patient with a few lingering messages then

I was with the downward spiral the thread was starting to

Yeah, I hope no one got suspended. Lotsa folks reply to messages in
sequence, so they may have responded to an earlier message after Chris
posted his "closed topic" message.

As quickly as the post-game messages come in, it can take someone a little
while to get caught up.

It hurts any time the Redskins lose, but living in Dallas, it hurts a little
more when we lose to the Cowboys. We outplayed them for 54 minutes. The offense
did not take advantage of the field position we had in the 3rd quarter / early
4th. As usual, I think the offense lost this game.

My comments after each missed field to a friend of mine:

End of 2nd half: For a team that can not score points, missing those FREE three
points is going to hurt.
4th quarter: Is there any doubt the Cowboys are going to score on this drive
and win the game 7-6?

Thanks and Regards,

Dan Joseph

Hail to the Redskins!

What ever pointless argument... If you can score in the redzone you do not have
to rest on the kicker... but of course it is all the kickers fault... sure...

One of those field goals wins the game... so, yes, I do blame the kicker for
this one.

Yes, I noticed Cartwright's "pipe down" hand motion.

And I think he sat out the next play as well. Maybe he pissed someone off with
his lack of strutting.....??

I also noticed how fired up he was several times when it seemed he was
facemasked or hit late (I think he even lost a helmet on one play). But the refs
didn't seem to notice quite a few potential facemask/headgear tackles (ala the
one that Betts got hurt on). Will the Skins send any of those into the league
office for some review?

Also...did anyone else notice on the 2nd (??) timeout that Zorn called in the
2nd half when Campbell came over to the sideline he was yelling at JC "Who told
you to call that" or something to that effect and JC looked down at his cheat
sheet on his wrist. I was wondering if Zorn didn't realize what play was called
in...or if JC called the wrong play versus what was called in by the Smith's...

Team Befuddled 2010!!!

On Rock's big run ( early 3rd Q I think  ) he went for about 25 yards and
was pushed out of bounds. While the whole Redskins sideline was whooping and
hollering and pointing at him and strutting and trying to hug him he pulled away
and waved his hand in a "knock it off" gesture. Rock totally gets it. ( did any
of you notice that ??)  All this posing and chest thumping after a mildly good
play is the kind of attitude that has contributed to 3-7. Rock may not be a star
but he is a "true Redskin" I wish more of our higher profile players had the
same attitude...( are you listening Moss, Landry, Randle EL Etc???.....) . I'm
sure your not since it only seems to get worse.

For me Rock having to shut up his over zealous teammates and coaches is a
perfect picture of what is wrong with the culture.  Go Rock !!!!

The Skins had their chances to win this game. Too many missed opportunities
(Macintosh and Fletcher's dropped INT's come to mind). And the whole end of the
first half FG attempt/play calling pretty much typifies this team's current
braintrust IMHO.

But they covered again...not that I pay attention to that kind of thing....

me. Because Portis is the "star" he gets the playing time even though he
does not practice. If the Redskins drafted Marques Colston in the 7th round,
he would probably still be riding the bench because he was a 7th round
pick. This is where the $$$ gets in the way of winning.

Watching the replay at NFL.com it doesn't look like Orakpo had as good
of a shot at Romo as I thought. In fact, it looks like he was only
able to get a hand on Romo before Romo sprinted to the left. I may
have been confusing the play with the 4th down where a rusher hit Romo
resulting in Fletcher's pick.

In fact, that was Orakpo, too.

Need to teach the Rak to Wrap.

It was a disappointing loss. A win today was within our grasp and just beyond
our fingertips. The team did well overall, considering how banged up they were
and without Hayneworth.

I hope dallass is hurting even more after this game and will lose Thursday to
Oakland.

Hopefully we can beat them in FedEx and that we get the opportunity to knock
them out of the playoffs.
