" USSJA Sport Jujitsu Outdoor Basho Huge Success "
Ric Anderton recently hosted an old style martial arts basho (gathering) at his farm in Dublin, Virginia on Saturday May 20, 2006. His farm that is normally used for breeding Thoroughbred Horses was the venue of an outdoor tournament that hosted nearly 200 sport jujitsu competitors.
The event was the second sport jujitsu tournament this year sanctioned by the United States Sport Jujitsu Association (USSJA). The USSJA competition format consist of Open-Hand Kata, Self Defense, and Free-Style Fighting. Competitors were divided by age, rank and experience level ranging from six years old & under to 50 years old & over. The beautiful scenery, friendly atmosphere and over-all talent made for a great day of martial arts. This outdoor basho is sure to grow into a future martial arts event you won't want to miss. Just don't forget the sunscreen! For more information on this event and other USSJA Sport Jujitsu events check out: www.ernielightfootboggs.com or www.sportjujitsu.com

These young warriors await the call for 6 & under Free-Style Fighting to begin.
