Attention all Ju-Jitsu Sensei:
The American Ju-Jitsu Association's Spring 2002 Western Region
Freestyle Kata Tournament, held Saturday, April 27, in Claremont, CA.,
went off beautifully, thanks to the careful planning of Sensei Jorge
Corona, AJA Western Region Tournament Coordinator. At least six
schools participated in the competition.
Freestyle Kata competition is a tremendously safe format in which
all belt levels can activily participate. Rules and scoring forms, as
well as a computerized score tallying template, using MS Excel, are
available from Sensei Jorge Corona.
If you would like information on the Freestyle Kata format used by
the AJA or would like information for the next western region
tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, please contact
Sensei Jorge Corona at jorge.corona@... .
If you would like a copy of the tournament video, please contact
James Stevens, Popcorn Entertainment, at james@... or visit
their website at www.popcornent.com .

George Kirby
