The 2001 Texas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open tournament which was scheduled for
September 8, 2001 has been rescheduled for October 6, 2001.
Carlos Machado's friend and the promoter of the famous Big D tournament Mr.
Walt Mason passed away a few days ago. We are surprised and saddened by his
passing. He was a prominent figure in the Texas martial arts community for
many years.
Mr. Mason was the person who always made the trophies and medals for our
tournaments. All the engraving and art-work was in his possession. There
was simply no way to find a new awards supplier and manufacture the awards
by September 8th.
As a result, the 2001 Texas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open has been re-scheduled
for Saturday, October 6, 2001. Details about the tournament can be found on
the Machado Dallas website here:

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. This tournament will
certainly be the best of the year.
The competition and level of sportsmanship at this event will be
outstanding!
We sincerely hope to see you there!
