First, I would like to say thank you to all of you. I have enjoyed the great
times and support that I have had while being a part of TVR over these past two
and half years!
Second, I would like to take this opportunity to announce my retirement from
TVR. As much as I would like to be there for our debut season at Qwest, I find
my schedule is super busy these days and keeping derby in the mix will not allow
me to do everything that I want to do.
I will miss you all and hope that you will keep in touch. I am on myspace,
facebook, and you can email me here through here as well
(kellifrog1759@...)
I wish you all the best of luck and bruises in your season to come!
Derby Love,
GUINNESS GRRRL!
Thanks hon. BTW, congrats!!! I only heard about it last Saturday @ the end of the PR thing and by then I was waiting on word about my mother's emergency surgery, so I was in no fit state to go out--weddings or otherwise. I did see the news clip tho! You two were so cute! And, are, always! :)

Oh, yeah... when you email us for Rake Up Boise, please indicate which house you'll be at. Feel free to grab the house closest to you! If it turns out we have wayyy more ppl at one house and almost none at another, we may have to assign you a location. Just as long as we get ALL THREE houses covered!!

Yeah, they really didn't give us a whole lotta time on this one, by the time the official locations were sent out. We have 3 houses this year.
608 Bitterroot Dr. Boise, ID 83709
Cross street: Cole & McMullin behind Intermountain Gas Co
11990 W. Bronte Dr. Boise, ID 83709 Cross street: Franklin & Cloverdale Off Cloverdale between Franklin & Overland
853 Wickham Fen Wy. Boise, ID 83709 Cross street: Bridetower Bridgetower from
5 Mile to Wickham Fen Wy.
These last two are in the same general area and the first house is closer to the mall.
Of course, bring your own rakes. I will pick up the leaf bags from Zamzows this next week.
This is a fantastic way to help out our community and gets the TVR name and face out there. Friends and family joining in will get the jobs done faster. Yes we will start early (9am) and it will be chilly, so dress warm! And, no, no skates or derby costumes... this is raking leaves not a "derby event". But derby logos are ALWAYS a great idea!!!! :) Spread the word to one and all!! Contact Candy or I directly to join the list. Let's try not to clog up the group, ok?
I need people to bring brooms and mops and dust pans. Those picking up the stuff from storage we also need the Pads for protection. We will meet at 11 pm at 5207 Irving and come in at the back door. We will be cleaning and laying down the track with the entire league, refs and Freshmeat. Come one come all. This will count as a practice.
Anyone that knows of any top mattresses that the league can have for padding please contact me direct. speedbump55@...
Sunday 2:00 Plank for video. We have a reservation of sorts.
We will be starting our Ref practices up again as of next week. Thusday League 6:30-8:30. First hour is skating and exercises with the ladies. Then an hour of light scrimmage practicing positions and making calls. We WILL have too many skating refs for next seasons positions so Vermin and I will have to discuss how many practices people will need to attend per month to qualify for their positions. You will all have the possibility of being NSO's this season including Vermin and I. Some of you will also be the HEAD REF for some of our bouts. Cross training is a must. Get ready it is going to be a bitchen' season!

We will be having a showing of our last bout with Salt Lake and Ogden at the Plank at 2 o'clock on this Sunday. All are invited and we will have a special guest that wants to interview Rollergirls and Refs there as well.

I just got off the phone with Juliana Gonzales with WFTDA and she has informed me that there will not be any other sanctioned bouts for the month of September and October since Regionals and National will be taking place during those months. So this tournament will not be a sanctioned tournament, however, we will be playing just like we always do by the WFTDA ruleset. We have also been ok'ed to hand out cash prizes for the tournament for the winning teams. The 2010 calander has not been finalized yet but will be after Nationals so we can see if there will be an overlap for that date.
I hope all of you have a good weekend and thanks.
SpeedBump-HR-Treasure Valley Rollergirls, Boise Idaho
I think all refs and NSO's will need to be in on this one. PBR is a potential sponsor for the 2010 season and Vermin's favorite swill. So....
We have an awesome PR opportunity coming up in November, and
probably one of the only ones when you may actually be ENCOURAGED to
drink!!
PBR is hosting the Idaho Nationals of Gelande Quaffing at the Knitting Factoryon November 15, in the late afternoon. (More details to come)
What is Gelande Quaffing you ask? It's a drinking game
involving sliding beer mugs down the bar, catching the mugs, and
drinking as fast as you can in a specified timeframe. I've posted a
youtube video to show you what it's all about:
How will TVR be involved in this fun event? They have asked us to
simply collect money, be a part of the festivities while promoting TVR
and helping with the clean up when it is done.
How will TVR benefit other than being able to promote what we do? We will get the proceeds from the $20 per person cover it takes to get into the event!!
I definitely think the more rollergirls (and refs, support staff, etc.) the better, so who wants to be in on this one??
Email me if you can participate.

So, i'm "officially" requesting to become an NSO. with school and other things right at the moment i can't commit to being able to make practices this winter...especially out in Eagle. My car is in the shop right at the moment, all metal mending prayers are apprciated.
i can still skate when needed.

love to but i have soccer games sundays right now, and i am moving this weekend as well. you boys have a blast ;0) any more word on indoor facilities for the cold weather months?
Unless forced to, kicking and screaming, Refs presently do not have required PR except for Bi-weekly Mob Meets that I will be sending out on the ref group to pick up new people. Also, its been weeks and I am ready for some skating so Vermin and I are going out to Fresh Meat Sunday to get some skating in. Anyone else want to come?
I don't think we need to a ref meeting for the month unless someone has something. We are presently working out details with photographers, Qwest and team stuff so we are very busy. Anyone need to meet?

The BOD cleaned up the mailing list and removed all those skaters that are no longer on teams except for three refs that need contact for freshmeat.

Practice today had to be cancelled due to a bike race out there @ Eagle that went across our track. The race is scheduled for tomorrow as well. They said they'd be out there until about 3pm. Of course, we had no idea this was happening until we arrived, so no way to warn skaters/refs/FM ahead of time. Please pass along this info to anyone NOT on our groups.
Those of us that showed up today are meeting at my house(right now!) for coffee, donuts and 4.0 Rules. Thanks to Ollie for the suggestion! Rush/Rae/Fox, how do we want to count this as attendance?
Anyone who gets this right away, you're welcome to attend!!
Wanted to pass Mia's message along, and also to remind you of Saturday & Sunday Fresh Meat practice, 11am-1pm Having refs out there is great- for questions & insight and also, we do occasionally get ppl interested in reffing!

USARS = A OK
Just got the confirmation that we are again covered out in Eagle as of today. So if you have USARS coverage, you're now insured out there through the end of 2009.
Please remember that you are NOT covered if you practice elsewhere (another skate park, greenbelt, etc.). If you go to a rollerdrome open skate, you will be covered by their standard liability insurance. If you are traveling and plan on practicing with another league, just make sure they have their location(s) covered.

ON!!!!!!
I talked to Edwards 21 today and it turns out there ARE playing the movie!
I need a list of everyone who can be there to promote. We need a big
showing so we don't look like 5 girls who pretend to play derby. She
even talked of getting us passes so we would be free! I'll let you
know if that happens!
IF some shit happens again, we will still go see the movie at the
Majestic in Meridian. So STILL be prepared to go!
Email me DIRECTLY and let me know that you can come. I would even
appreciate an email if you can't just so I know you read it. And talk
to those who you know don't regularly check the tvr group. And invite
those who are retired. And invite your friends!
