THE ALL AMERICAN MOWER CHAMPIONSHIPS.

This is an open invitational event held only once a year. THE intent of this
event is to have racers from across the US come together from the everyday racer
to the National Champions from across the US and Canada. Look at it as a world
finals so to speak. IT doesn't matter what group you race with what club what
your mower build is. IF you are a champion whether of your local track/club or
of the National level and you plan on attending this event, LET me know come
race day You will receive recognition as such. I am working on sponsors for door
prizes longest distance traveled and things like that. There will be other
special awards earned over the weekend plus all the racing. SO put it on your
calenders Someone in each class will go home an AMERICAN RACING Mower Champion.
Below is all the details. SO MARK them calenders now most seasons are over you
have no excuse not to attend one of the largest if not the largest event of the
year for mower racers. With that being said understand the BTMRA Staff
Volunteers that will run this event are also racers. ALSO understand that the
track maintenance and prep workers are volunteers from the SCLMRA local club and
also are racers, WE all work our Tails off for the racers in an effort to
provide a once a year race that everyone will remember and talk about because
they enjoyed it so much with as little cost as possible. But each year things
change. Due to rising costs of everything we are having to charge race fees to
help. Race fee will be 5.00 per driver regardless of classes entered. We will
also have electronic scoring on site provided by Kerry Evans which does the
scoring for USLMRA events. There will be a transponder rental fee paid directly
to Kerry Evans. This fee will be 5.00 per day per driver. Not per mower.

We are asking for racers to pre-register. Those that pre-register will be
included in the race program that will be free to the racers. You are not bound
to anything by pre-registering. We are simply making an effort to get ahead of
the game we expect ALLOT of racers last year we had 124 mowers in attendance.
ALSO this will give us a head count so we can FEED you guys and gals Saturday
night. That's right we gonna feed you hungry people Saturday night.... Please
email the info needed listed below to me at gdherrin@....

ONE Last note, Driver and one person get in pits free. Venue is in charge of
gate fees and anyone other than driver and one must pay pit fee of 5.00. And you
must be with the driver when you enter or you will pay. No exceptions.

SO total fees for driver for said weekend will be
Race fee 5.00
Transponder fee 5.00 per day per driver.
Pit fee for anyone beyond driver and one crew member is 5.00 per person. 12 and
under free.

I just paid $2200 to have mine pro built. Target RPM was 6-7000, forget
modified stock carb (use 2stroke kart pumper); piston came from Aris
(.10); 12:1 CR (just level head and block, no mill), stock cyro
treated (no billit rod available) machined for bearing inserts;
pushrods were 5/16" custom made; roller rockers/solid lifters are SB
Chevy; flywheel w/ custom hub, springs/retainers/valve was Midwest Cub
puller (valve lash is .06 on both valves), $225 cam was from Lakota
(use Comp or Precision). If you want to know more, contact me offline.

Just putting all the info in one post So here it is for all to see I
think I have everything covered in this one post. I want to make this
an annual event. Possibly one of the biggest in the country like a
Daytona 500 of mower racing. Where everyone is welcome and can come
and race with the best in the country.

OK We will call this the Savannah Valley Speedway Southeastern
Invitational

. I am cordially inviting all racers to this event regardless of what
group you run with or what your rules are. Trophy's will be awarded
for the top 3 in only the sanctioned ARMA classes. BUT Everyone is
welcomed to come race with us on this day. ALL ARMA safety gear is
required to be worn. All machines will be inspected for safety. We
want to use this event to bring all the racers from the sotuheastern
region of the US together for a fun day of racing and a get together
to see what everyone is about and view the different types of
machines. Everyone is welcome to come.
This includes the Allegany racers and anyone else wanting to join
us on Nov. 17th. So come on out and meet and greet, race your mower
learn a little teach a little and what ever else you do on race day...

There will be no race fees, however anyone wanting to and has a
machine that fits the rules to run in the ARMA sanctioned classes
must be ARMA members that will cost $25.00. Your membership will be
good thru the 08 season. Plus as a member you will recieve close to
$100.00 in goodies from Amsoil our Sponsor. All drivers plus one pit
person/crew will be allowed in the pits for free. ALL others will be
required to purchase a $5.00 pit pass to stay in the pits.

This will not only be be the TN Championship series but a day in
which all southeastern racers can come together at one track be fully
insured and meet everyone and have fun. It will also count as BTMRA
08 club points and will count as the 08 TN championship series
points. In essence we will be racing two points series during the 08
season. SO far we have this first event at Savannah Valley speedway
then the Stevenson race will count towards this series also. We will
figure out which other events will count towards this series. We are
looking at a possible 4 race series between the ETLMRA and BTMRA to
determine the TN Champions. Wow this will be the first time we have a
real Series amongst the TN racers regardless of affiliation to
determine the TN Champions. Cool deal huh!!! We will talk a bit more
this weekend at the rogersville race. So as you can see this event is
stacking up to be a whopper for both clubs and as stated earlier we
hope to see many of the other racers from AMRA and the Crouch's group
to come on out and join us for a day of fun and racing.

Track is fast and smooth 210 foot straights 30 feet wide all the way
around with a slight right on one striaght and big wide turns. This
is an awesome track. USLMRA held a double race there this past summer
and track was awesome both days. This event is hosted by Goodners
Equipment and the ETLMRA racers will be running with us. SO get ready
for the FAll shoot out. Here is more info

There will be a dunking booth and carnival games to play. There is going to be
inflatable moonwalks for the children to jump in. refreshments (no alcohol)
available as well. Face painting and a craft section.

We are also having a chinese style auction (silent Charity auction) with the
items donated from businesses as well as a live broadcast if they get back to me
in time for a mobile broadcasting.

We will have sno cones, popcorn, sodas, bottled water, candy floss and the
Schwans truck will be there with ice cream.

There is also going to be the fire trucks and EMS workers on hand as well as
police cars for show and be handy.

At dinner time we will have music playing from DJ as well as pig roast on wood
or gas and chicken as well with all the trimmings. A dance shall follow for a
small time period to end the evening.

Some camping can be arranged through me as we will contact neighbors if not
enough room for people there or I can provide local motels which I am working on
trying to get a discount rate from if not then I have contacts for a private
lake for camping which has no electric hook ups but can fish on a nice lake for
crappies and it is quiet and peaceful.

PLEASE Advise if you plan to attend as this will help me greatly. There is no
fee for the racers for the pig roasts or event as a whole unless you play the
games or drinks. A donation of 5.00 would be awesome or a couple cans of canned
food as we are also setting up a food bank at our location for the local low
income families.

This is on a major highway which we expect 400-500 people easily. Corner of
hwy158 and 65 just off 29 business North. This is all for children to improve on
literacy and get tutors or mentors for low income families. I personally sold my
home to put this event together as well as purchased 10,000 books for children
and shelf units and computers. I am hoping this will give me the start I need to
have a cushion period to put on a bigger better event and make a difference with
all of you helping. I eventually want to turn this to an annual event with me in
a position to purchase land for building a track permanently there for ARMA.

Thanks to all and hope to meet everyone as soon as possible.

Any Questions you can email me or call me directly 336-951-3730 Update # 2

Emergency Medical Services will be there on hand and confirmed.

Fire trucks have been confirmed and need to be placed for easy access to get
out.

Police has confirmed.

A local Radio station has the ads going online 20 times a day from Monday July
9th till day of event and may attend with a mobile unit.

Bare with me people as this is my first event planning and I am doing it alone
so I am trying to keep you all informed of what is happening on this end for you
all to enjoy.

I am working on the discount rentals for overnight camping and lodging. Update #

   I'm working on a build and I have a question. I've seen A/P machines
with the block spun around (plug facing backwards) for clearance. Is
this legal on an S/P machine as well? I understand the crank has to
remain in the original location, which it will.
   Thanks

hello,

I was given a Powr Kraft riding mower that had its original engine and
the cutting deck and blades removed. It has a briggs and straton 5hp
motor in it now and I was thinking I'd turn it into a faster machine.
I'm thinking the pulleys need to be changed out, and I'd like to
install a kill switch of some sort as well as a throttle cable
somewhere. Just not sure where or how a kill switch would work with
this little motor. Its a pull-start engine, and for me to turn it off
I have to push the throttle by hand to the left.

I'll post pics of it on my website soon.
