Well, my vote goes to Zenyatta. She proved herself in the BC classic! Even tho
Rachel Alexandra racked up a great record in 09, still Zenyatta beat the best of
the best & the connections for Rachel did themselves no good by skipping any BC
races because of the synthetic track surface. It would be great to see a head to
head with these two to really prove which filly best, barring that...the nod
goes to Zenyatta. Whats your opinion?

Well Martin Pedroza has dominated this meet for the past several years & it
looks like he will do it again. Martin Garcia has been riding well here but not
as good as Pedroza. He just knows how to take the turns, leaning in just enough
so his mount doesnt lose momentum. Christian Santiago Reyes is another jockey to
keep an eye on & trainers O Neill & Sadler have been doing well at this fair
track. Oak Tree at Santa Anita begins in a week & most SoCal racing fans are
anxiously awaiting that meet as well as the Breeders Cup races in Nov. I will
see you there.

About a week or so ago I met up with Matt C at the betting windows at Del Mar. I
asked what he liked at Saratoga. He said "I havent looked at the form yet." I
then suggested that he just play Kent Desormeaux aboard Bill Motts horses at
Saratoga & forget the form when they are on the track. Since then, the
Desormeaux/Mott team has not only won more than their share at the Spa, but have
also travelled to win some major stakes all around the racing world. Meanwhile.
as I posted earlier, down at Del Mar its simply Tyler Baze, Tyler Baze & more
Tyler Baze, along with Joel Rosario, with a touch of Flores or Nakatani & you've
got yourself a winning day! Are you watching?

Once again Kent D leaves his home turf (Saratoga) to ride down at Monmouth. Two
wins early on then aboard Summer Bird in the Haskell he rides for 2nd. Well
everyone knew Rachel A. was going to win that race, (or at least it was obvious
to me), that meant Kent was riding for the place spot. How easy can it be? A bit
over $10 was a gift. $20 gets over $100, & if you followed Kent early on you had
that $20 from his previous wins. Check my posting RE Kent D & his travels.
Meanwhile down at Del Mar it's Tyler Baze & more Tyler Baze, over & over again.
It's simply between him & Joel Rosario. No real need to check the PPs down
there. Just stick with those two & throw in an occasional Flores & you've got a
winning day! Good luck!

Some ideas for the Spa.
1st. If Auteur draws in, he should be very competitive, the Desormeaux/Mott
jockey/trainer combo works well. Otherwise Good Prospect appears just such, with
front riding specialist Alan Garcia in the irons for Linda Rice.
2nd. 2 fillies stick out in this. Mythical Yarn & Freedom Rings. I'm sure both
will be at short odds. OK for pick 3 wagers.
3rd. Robby Alvarado is up on a well meant, well placed runner for McPeek. Trying
to beat the likely odds-on Riley Tucker.
4th. Get Stormy wire to wire? Main competition should come from the Brazillian
bred Parc des Princes
5th. Try the Desormeaux/Mott team once again
6th. Firewood may burn up the track. Top NY rider up for Bruce Levine. Bold
Abbott will make it a race. Midwatch looms the upsetter. A 3 horse box?
7th. Ramon Dominquez rides for Dutrow in this sprint. Could never look back if
they get off to an easy lead.
8th. Tough race to figure! Marias Charm, Presto Changeo, & Capt. Rio seem best
of this bunch.
9th. A real guessing game! Could make a case for several in this Stakes sprint
for 2 yr olds. Decelerator, Hot Dixie Chick, Beautician & Cowgirl Mally all have
a shot! Take your best shot at anyone!
10th. The Bandit should steal this one. Dominquez for Zito.

Kent D is presently based in NY riding the NY circuit, but on Sat he travelled
to Churchill to ride in the big race there...and he won there. Then on Sunday he
was up at Hollywood to ride in the American Oaks..and he won there as well! See
my message 2327 last month RE: Shippers into stakes races. The theory held well.
And it usually does with Kent D. as he just doesnt travel to ride just one race
unless he figures he has a really good shot at scoring! Keep that bit of info in
mind. Meanwhile I'm off to NY again to present a few seminars out on Long
Island. Leaving tomorrow, returning on the 21st. That figures right? Del Mar
opens on the 22nd! See you there!

Both won with seemingly ease, Rachel set a new stakes record time. Neither paid
much as winners, but that was to be expeted. Too bad Rachels owners have decided
to NOT enter her in the BC fillies. They just dont like the artificial tracks.
It would be a hec k of a race if ever these two go against each other. Quinella
would likely pay $2.10!

Rachel will be at Belmont. Shes the one who may get upset on a sloppy track.
Zenyatta is at Hollywd. Should be an easy win out there. So play for a price in
the small field at Belmont, then simply watch Zen go at Hollywd. Kent D has a
few decent mounts coming up in NY so take a long look at anything he's on.

Check out Rachel Alexandria this weekend in So Cal. It should be a great race to
watch. She may bust the track record. Not a race to wager on, Rachel will likely
go off at 1-5, but shoud be fun to watch a champion run. Undefeated Zenyatta is
also running (at Belmont), but with all the rainy weather theyve been having
back there, if it rains again, she may be set for an upset on that sloppy track.

Its called the "shotgun way". heres how it works. Figure your top 3 pks in each
leg of the pk 6. Play it this way.
Your top pk is #1, 2nd pk #2, 3rd pk #3. You will wager 9 $2 tickets.
Total of the bet is $18.
         1st tkt..2nd tkt..3rd..4th..5th..6th..7th..8th..9th

Leg 1. 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3
Leg 2. 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3
Leg 3. 1 3 2 2 1 3 3 2 1
Leg 4. 1 2 3 2 3 1 3 1 2
Leg 5. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
Leg 6. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1

If you have picked all 6 winners among your top 3 plays, then at least 5 0f the
6 will line up on one of the tickets. Even if all 6 winners are NOT on one of
your tickets, you still have a shot to hit 5 of 6 on any one of four tickets.
This is just one of the wagering systems I expplain during my handicapping
seminars. If you believe the strongest top picks are in the first 2 legs, then
simply reverse the order IE: 2nd ticket would be 1-1-2-3-2-1. Try it!

Belmont Stakes Saturday was actually Kent Desormeaux day! Three wins in a row
early on, then a fantastic finish to take the Belmont! Luckily I caught the
exacta in the Belmont, but didnt play Kent alone on the win, just put him in the
exacta as an afterthought figuring he had already won three on the day, so just
maybe he could place in the Belmont. But I did have him early on, should have
played a Kent D pick 3! But I cant say how happy I am for him, with all the
heartaches he's had. I pray for his boy every day, that some miracle can be
discovered to help little Jacob get thru each day, and maybe someday a cure for
his disability. But Kent must be happy tonite! And everyone who backed him must
be just overjoyed! The chant is "Pay the rent with Kent!"

Another heavy downpour skewered the races once again at Belmont. Its been a
really rainy spring in NY.
3rd. Dynaslew was an easy winner but paid a measley $3.30 for the win.
4th. Fairway Drive was another winner, paid a decent $7.00
5th. Granted Tiger ran out.
7th. Fivehailmarys finished last. Just didnt handle the wet going.
8th. McVictory ran 2nd to the final turn, then just plain stopped.
2 wins from 5 picks, but picks in the last 3 really disappointed.
