An e-mail newsgroup has been created with the sole aim of helping all members of Glasgow Hawks RFC communicate with one another in an efficient and easy-to-use manner.

At present, virtually all correspondence is relayed through our esteemed Honorary Secretary, the great Hugh Barrow. However, for a club with ambitions to remain at the top of Scottish rugby (and beyond!), we need to be able to communicate with one another without having to rely on Hugh.

The fact that you are reading this e-mail means you have been invited to register to the newsgroup. Members can send e-mail messages to "hawksnation@yahoogroups.com" and all members of the group will receive a copy in their e-mail inbox.

However, you should all note that you can only send a message to the newsgroup if the e-mail addresses you are sending your e-mail from is registered with hawksnation@yahoogroups.com. Confused? Let me explain.

I have three e-mail addresses - one for work: kbaillie@dynamic-knowledge-corp.com, and two personal: kennybaillie@gmail.com & kibaillie@yahoo.co.uk. Only my personal e-mail addresses are registered with the newsgroup, therefore if I try to send an e-mail from my work address to the newsgroup it will be blocked for the simple reason it is not a registered e-mail address. This small piece of system admin provides a secure environment in which to communicate with each other.

Match, training, social and general club information etc. can be posted here, by any registered member of the group.

Oh, and please try and keep it clean!!!
