PLAYING WITH A BROKEN STICK
The shot is taken, the stick breaks, and the defender has to choose whether he will defend with no stick or skate hard to the bench and get another. Will another player notice his plight and hand-off his own stick? Will the other team notice his handicap?

Most posts here are just an expression of an opinion - a shot, IOW. If the shot goes into the stands or hits someone on your own team, take better aim next time so you aren't penalized. Shooting with the intention of hurting someone might mean that the shot gets blocked before it reaches the 'Net.

Playing with a broken stick, in most leagues, is a penalty. Go to the bench and get another stick! Don't throw away the old one, though.

There is a lot of value in a broken stick.

Take care, take risks, game on!
