Aloha, brothers and sister!
Well, the surf on Friday morning was just okay (by San Diego standards --
really bad by North Shore Hawaiian and South African standards), but we
managed to make the most of it.

Luc<http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=670137386>and
I <http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=607582082> paddled out at Law
Street <http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=71642&id=607582082>, where we
enjoyed edifying conversation and small (but still fun) surf together on a
beautiful, sunny San Diego morning.
Adam<http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=64300220>just kept cycling
from one nice ride to the next. The rest of us never quite
seemed to do as well as Adam<http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=64300220>,
to say the least. I <http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=607582082> was
probably the least adept of the bunch. However, we pretty much had the break
to ourselves, which was really nice.
I <http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=607582082> just love surfing with
my Christian brothers.
BTW, Luc <http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=670137386> mentioned a
twelve day surf ministry trip to Costa Rica (Jaco & Hermosa Beach) from July
8 through July
19<http://believersworld.com/missiontrips/index.php/MIssion-Trips/Mission-Costa-\
Rica.html>,
and Adam <http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=64300220> and his brothers
are planning a three week trip to Costa Rica, soon. I requested additional
details about the trip that
Luc<http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=670137386>found and will
share them with the group, once I have them. Hopefully, we
can start engaging in ministry trips as a group, soon.
Also, regarding my last surf report, and the obvious design of the universe,
I received one response from one who puts his faith in the religion of
evolution, which I thought that I would respond to here, in case others have
the same belief and desire evidence to study that would help them to come to
a clearer understanding about the reality of God's design of life, the
universe and everything. Here are some things to consider:
- Causality -- we live in a causal universe. Thus, everything that
happens and ever has happened each had a cause. The first cause is God.
Thus, God's existence is irrefutable by the very nature of the universe that
He created.
- The Second Law of Thermodynamics -- in our universe, everything tends
to go from a state of order to a state of disorder. Things are never
observed to go from a disordered state to and ordered state without an
external influence (e.g., heat applied to a cup of coffee dissipates, and
the coffee temperature eventually equalizes with that of the ambient). You
can prove this to yourself, sometime: clean up one of the rooms in your
house, shut the door and come back in a couple of weeks and observe the
state of said room at that time. This law (never disproved by observation)
implies that life has a designer (since all life is based upon information,
and information does not come from disorder, but information tends to become
disorganized, over time). It also implies that the universe is not
infinitely old (since, if it were, everything would be at the same
temperature, work could not be done, no life would exist, etc.).
- Irreducible Complexity -- if, like all evolutionists, you choose to
ignore the Second Law of Thermodynamics (which is recognized by all sciences
-- i.e., evolution is not a science but a faith based belief system), you
are left with the problem of not only explaining how each of the components
of an individual cell could form from noise but how they could all form,
simultaneously, together from noise. Beyond that, you have to explain how
organs, like the eye, formed all of there components (each composed of up to
millions cells), simultaneously. Given the fact that one individual cell is
more complex that New York city, you have really got some 'splaining to do,
Lucy.
- Evolutionary Biological Development (so called "Evo Devo") Theory --
this is the most popular theory in modern evolution biology, and proves that
evolution does not work as Darwin theorized. Indeed, all of the first
instances of every species were preprogrammed with all of the adaptations to
future environmental stimuli. Hardcore evolutionists call that the mechanism
of evolution, but then there is no difference between evolution and
creationism, since someone (i.e., God) had to write all of that code into
the various species. Beyond that, Evo Devo Theory proves that mutations are
bad. Thus, as the Second Law of Thermodynamics requires, biological systems
are slowly getting worse, not better, as mutations to the code that God
wrote occur.
There are many, many more validations of creationism (and invalidations of
evolution) that one can study, but if these are not enough, then you
probably just do not want to believe in the obvious existence of God, since
you probably do not want to consider His plan for your life.
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky.
Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible
qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for
not knowing God,” Romans 1:20
(NLT)<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%201:20&version=51>
.
Romans 1:21-22
(NLT)<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%201:21-22;&version=51;>\
,
“...they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result,
their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead
became utter fools.” Psalm 53:1
(NLT)<http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2053:1;&version=51;>,
“Only fools say in their hearts, 'There is no God.' They are corrupt, and
their actions are evil; not one of them does good!”
Have a great Sunday night!
God bless,
Darwin
