Interested in a nice chilling trip through some beautiful and relaxed countries arround the Mediterranean Sea in September? E.g. Libya or Syria and Jordan?

We think its time for another challenge. So let me introduce the idea of the Berlin-Jerusalem-Challenge! Starting point can be Berlin but any other town in Germany or England is also fine. But the destination is the Jaffagate at the old city wall in Jerusalem. The route is still to be discussed but driving via Spain, Morocco and Algeria is not possible because the border between Algeria and Morocco is closed and driving through Algeria is definitely unsafe and dangerous (this says Frank the Axe so be sure IT IS unsafe and dangerous).

So there are two main routes left.

Austria-Italy-Tunesia-Lybia-Egypt-Israel:

pro:
North Africa, sand, dunes, gravel roads, pyramides, funny coutries (my mom will love the Lybia part)
contra:
We have to use a ferry from Palermo to Tunis (106 Euro per car and two passengers). And water is cheating!


Austria-Croatia-Serbia-Bulgaria-Turkey-Syria-Jordan-Israel:

pro:
even more funny border crossings, all on tarmac (or is that a "Contra"?), no cheating with ferries....
contra:
No Lybia, no sand, no african stars, no pyramides....


Thats the challenge! The startdate is scheduled to be the September - 19 - 2009 but thats just a proposal.
